CHAPTER 13

Shane opened the bedroom door and then kicked it closed with his foot. Dena’s arms were locked around his neck, and her face was buried in his shoulder. He could smell her fragrant shampoo.

He gently placed her beside the king-sized bed, and without looking away, she took a hesitant step backward out of his grasp.

He removed his shirt with trembling hands, and then his arms encircled her, one hand resting against the small of her back. She moved toward him, impelled by her own passion. She placed her hands around his waist, and he lowered his head to speak, only to have Dena’s lips meet his halfway. Her warm, moist mouth demanded a response, and his mouth covered hers hungrily.

Giving herself freely to the passion of his kiss, Dena guided her hand upward on his thigh until she found him hard and swollen. She closed her warm fingers over the bulge in his jeans.

His breath caught in his throat. Only moments ago, he had thought he was in control of the situation, only to find that Dena had the upper hand, so to speak. A delightful shiver of wanting ran through him.

He was on fire and had never felt more of a man. His feelings for Dena had penetrated the wall of honorable intentions he had so carefully built. But for now, he would give and take what he wanted. He buried his face in the hollow of her delicate throat and inhaled her heavenly scent. He might regret this later, but not now, not tonight.

Shane pulled back the covers, and they moved together onto the expanse of the soft mattress. She moaned softly, and he felt her lips touch his like a whisper as he stretched out beside her. Shane’s hands roamed the silky skin beneath Dena’s oversized bulky sweater and then pushed it up and over her head and out of the way. He unfastened her bra, and it fell to the floor. Gently, his hands outlined the circle of her breasts, and he pressed fevered kisses to the succulent flesh before he took one nipple in his mouth, then the other, and tantalized the buds which had swollen to their fullest.

His lips seared a path down her body until they reached the waistband of her jeans. His nimble fingers unzipped them slowly, then he slid his hand down her taut belly and teased her silky curls, searching for pleasure points.

Her tormented groan was a heady invitation, and his lips traced a sensuous path to ecstasy. As he roused her passion, his own grew stronger.

“Tell me what you like. What you want,” Dena whispered as she reached for the zipper of his jeans. He quickly removed them and settled beside her as she reached for him.

“Oh, yes,” he groaned. “I like that. I definitely like that. You know, that’s supposed to be the guy’s line to the girl.” He pulled her under him and settled gently on top. “What do you like?”

Shane looked down into her face, an open and honest face that couldn’t disguise the desire she felt.
